Are you ready to shake up how you celebrate the 100th day of school? If you’re a first or second grade teacher, you can easily still have fun without your students saying the dreaded “Oh we did this last year” after you have planned and prepped for this super fun day.
Celebrate the 101st or the 102nd day of school with these fun Dalmatian themed digital and printable activities!
Now… I’m not too old but most of these kiddos don’t even know what the 101 and 102 Dalmatians movies are! (This is to say, you may need to talk about the movie beforehand so the kids aren’t confused!).
This day is a great day to take a pause in learning and reflect on what you have accomplished so far in the year. What a wonderful time!
We started the day with making the 102nd day hats to get us ready for the day! They are stinkin’ cute! And my students loved wearing them all day.
Once we all had on our hats, we brainstormed a list of the different learning we have done in each subject. You can make this list on the board or quickly pull up a Google Slides to make a digital list. After you reminisce its time to make the flip book.
And of course, these special days give you permission to go crazy with hallway displays!
In this resource I have included an original non-fiction book about Dalmatians facts. You can use this included book to write an informal piece of writing to pair with the Dalmatian dog craft.
One of my favorite part of fun days is including a surprise snack! And of course, it needs to match the theme: “pup”corn and water!

And don’t forget to include some fun math games! Your students will be so engaged with Race to 101 or 102! The kids LOVED seeing how fast they could write their numbers. Talk about focus- set a timer and say go! We tried individual timers on our Chromebooks, but there was an error so I ended up setting a whole group timer and the students just had to look at the time they stopped.
I hope your 101st or 102nd Day of School is a super fun day!
